Feras Jerjis

Feras fled Iraq with his family at the age of 14 and lived in Carlisle, he then moved to Newcastle to study. His artwork is influenced by the culture of the marshes in southern Iraq which has existed unchanged for over 3,000 years. Feras is also inspired by symbols and motifs portrayed in the artefacts in the Iraqi Museum in Baghdad where he visited as a child.
